Problem
Robin is a hybrid-workplace platform used to book desks and rooms, manage visitors and run the office. Features span a React/Angular web app, a React Native mobile app, an Outlook add-in and a fleet of Node.js microservices behind a federated GraphQL gateway.
What I built
- Developed the Robin web and mobile applications in React, Angular, React Native and Node.js.
- Contributed to the federated GraphQL gateway (Apollo Federation): custom queries, mutations and resolvers unifying the Reservations, Users and Devices microservices; cross-service schema composition, permission handling and token validation at the gateway.
- Lead developer and owner of Visitor Management workflows, Anonymity Mode (user privacy) and the Priority Booking Window policy.
- Led development and rollout of the mobile push-notification system; developed and maintained the push-notification and visitor-management microservices.
- Owned production quality of the Microsoft Outlook add-in: weekly metrics reviews, Sentry instrumentation and Datadog dashboards.
- Facilitated agile ceremonies, maintained engineering documentation and organised the internal hackathon three years running (1st place once, 2nd once).
Result
The mobile push-notification rollout increased monthly active users by 15%. Production errors on the Outlook add-in fell by 70%. Visitor management, Anonymity Mode and the Priority Booking Window shipped to Robin's customer base.
